(STAND SOLD SEPARATELY) Introducing our Hawaiian short spear, also known as the “Ihe”, handcrafted from monkey-pod wood and measuring 28″ in length, 1.75 inches wide, and 1.3 inches thick. The spear features colored chicken feathers and artificial shark teeth. Personalize your spear with your name, title, date, and a one-sentence thank you message on one side, all included in the cost. You can also opt to add a tribal pattern at the end of the spear.

For other occasions like birthdays, Father’s Day, graduation, or weddings, make the name bigger so it stands out and limits the customization to two lines. If you want more words and images, our engravers will work with you to create the best layout. Please note that there is limited space available, so keep it to four lines at most.

Please indicate if you want the tribal pattern at the end of the spear.  If you have a lot of words and images, engravers will suggest shortening the tribal pattern lessening the number of words, or putting some of the words on the back (cost an extra $25 paid at pick up).   The display stand is $20 and available for purchase on this website)

Initial Mockup – Designing

 

MOCKUP DESIGN – PDF DOWNLOAD

Download the file for each product in the Product Description

  1. Download the provided PDF file.
  2. Confirm the Tracking Code as the name for printing (recipient’s name and your last name).
  3. Select the specified orientation and tribal designs.
  4. Choose the same options on the product listing on the website.
  5. Take note of any extra charges during the design process.
  6. If your design differs from the standard design, follow the Custom Ordering instructions.
  7. Save the file with the title matching your tracking code.
  8. Upload the saved file to “Sketch-Design” on the product listing.
  9. Select applicable fields on the website as shown in the PDF, if applicable.
  10. Be mindful of extra charges associated with selected fields; ensure selection to avoid later charges.           
    Custom Layout (Not Standard Design)This Procedure is for complex designs that differ from our standard mockup.

    You will most likely need to edit your PDF on software such as “Kami”
    Please create the initial mockup yourself. (Instructions on how to design your order are below.)

    After Downloading the PDF you will need to customize your order

    1. Use free software like Kami for custom orders.
    2. Open Kami and click “Start for Free.”
    3. Create an account in under 30 seconds.
    4. Press “My Computer” to open your file.
    5. Use the marker tool and text box to select design and orientation.
    6. Add “Text” where you want text.
    7. For images, use a labeled circle with the image name.
    8. Include images in the file upload, excluding the initial mockup.

Engraving Process: Custom Item

NEW IMAGES

New images that we don’t have in stock cost $10 each to convert to a file that we can print. Please send high-resolution (clear) or vector images if possible. We have most of the Hawaii military images (all branches), but if the source of your image (your company or unit) is newer, farther away, or lesser known, we may not have it in our files. We will let you know during the proofing process if you will be charged for new images. We reserve the right to refuse and refund any new images.

 Please do not send smartphone photographs of cloth badges or coins to be used as a printed logo. Send images as graphic files only (JPEG, PDG, SVG, PNG)

COIN INLAY

We can inlay your coin onto your custom item.  Either drop off coins at the engraving shop in Aiea or mail them to the address Makemake Makana LLC, 99 920 Iwaena st, unit 102, Aiea Hi 96701.  Coin inlay is an extra $10 for round coins and $15 to $20 if your coin is larger than 3” in diameter, or has an irregular shape (not round)

If you have any special requests, be sure to include them in the description of your order. Always put your order number on the subject heading.

PROOF OF LAYOUT

We will send you a layout with the images and words you requested, and you will have up to 3 chances to suggest changes or approve the layout.  Please keep revisions and the going back and forth to a minimum.

We will print only after you approve, and we will send another email when your order is complete. If you want to check on your order status, call the engraving shop at 808 484 1415.

PICK UP DATE & RUSH ORDERS

If you need your order earlier than five days from the date you placed your order, we offer a rush order service of $20. You can pay the rush fee when you pick up your order.

For non-rush orders, please request your pickup date to be at least seven days after the date of purchase.

SHIPPING

We will ship to the USA and APO addresses & Canada.  (Australia and New Zealand shipping are on hold for now.)

Please allow at least 3 weeks for shipping. We use USPS priority, but expedited shipping is available at an extra cost.

Please make sure the recipient address you provide is correct and accepts packages. You need to pay again to re-ship if your item is undeliverable due to the wrong address you provide.
